A NEW ALLIANCE
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
On May 25, 1977, a few simple words kicked off a public obsession with a fictional universe the likes of which the world had never seen. Forty years later, this universe has become a growing multi-billion dollar franchise spanning movies, television, video games, consumer products, theme parks, and more. Star Wars shows no sign of its age, and its fans no signs of their passionate interest slowing down but instead, it continues to capture the imaginations of boys and girls of all ages the world over.
As Columbus Magnet School’s Young Astronauts enters its 22nd year, and NASA it’s 59th, we pay tribute to public’s growing and continued interest in the exploration of our celestial neighborhood, deep space, and perhaps the discovery of extra-terrestrial life, with a unique mission that brings together past, present and future achievements of the beloved NASA space program and Star Wars, the modern mythology that continues to capture our minds and hearts 40 years after its opening title crawl.
