October 28th 2016- Enigma Machine
During today’s YA meeting, our C in C gave us a history of language and the written word. From cave drawings to hieroglyphs, through the era of the first printing press, and the development and use of the Morse code, all the way to WWII and the Enigma Machine. Then the kids watched a great video explaining how a simple circuit board was one of the most ingenious and sophisticated coding machines ever created. Our young astronauts got to try out Morse code for themselves and began deciphering messages right away!
